Plastisol ink that includes a blowing agent that causes the ink to expand when heat is applied. Expansion increases opacity. Expansion makes the ink film weaker and subject to be scraped off by abrasion. Letters like p, e, o and q will close in from ink expansion. Ink does not hold resolution that 3DSQ inks do. Expansion of 100% Plastipuff is 10:1. Opacity of prints can be improved by mixing a lower percentage of Plastipuff into another ink, but without getting the high loft to the image. We recommend stocking white and the Plastipuff Additive PLPF-9111 only. The Additive can be added to any color ink for a particular project without putting dollars on the shelf for inks seldom used. The loft and expansion is controlled by mesh count and stencil thickness. Typically 60-110 mesh would be used, but a finer mesh like 160-230 will have less loft and higher resolution. |
